Job summary

The Miriam Hospital, part of Brown University Health, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to assist patients and families from admission to discharge under RN supervision. The role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and accurate documentation in the EHR within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include personal care, daily living activities, and communication of patient observations to the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• NA candidate must obtain professional license within 15 days of hire.
• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or its equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in American Heart Association BLS.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide care to patients across the life span.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and related health care assistance.
• Assist with daily activities of living as directed by the RN.
• Maintain safe environment and report unsafe conditions to the RN or supervisor.
• Document data accurately in the EHR and care flowsheets.
• Communicate pertinent patient observations to the RN.
