Job summary

Brown University Health’s Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care from admission to discharge under RN supervision. Responsibilities include basic personal care, safety, and accurate documentation within the EHR, following hospital policies.

Candidates must hold a Rhode Island Nursing Assistant license, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be BLS certified. Prior caregiving experience and comfort with the life-span approach are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Rhode Island license as a Nursing Assistant.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to perform basic computer skills.
• Certified in American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, performs personal care and related tasks.
• Maintain safe environment and infection control per policies.
• Document data in EHR and clinical records; participate in emergency/code situations.
