Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for Pre Admission Testing on a per diem basis. The role emphasizes high-quality, cost-effective patient care within the hospital's multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide independent practice within the scope of collaboration with physicians, participate in perioperative and trauma care, and ensure accurate documentation and discharge planning in line with LIHN guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of NP educational program approved by the State of New York.
• Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
• Bachelors and Masters degrees.
• Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Identifies self as nurse practitioner and assists physician with patient management and discharge planning.
• Communicates with physicians, case managers, and hospital staff to coordinate care.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment/history and physical examination.
• Orders and interprets tests/results based on patient need and orders medications/treatments.
• Documents care in chart per CDI policies and hospital procedures.
