NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk in Long Island invites a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join Pre Admission Testing on a per diem basis. The role emphasizes high-quality, timely patient assessment and collaboration with physicians to ensure smooth admissions.

The successful candidate will provide independent patient care within the NP/PA scope, order and interpret tests, and participate in discharge planning while supporting trauma and surgical services as needed.

Qualifikationen

• To qualify you must have a Graduate of NP educational program approved by the State of New York
• Current NP certification from either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center
• Bachelor's and Master's degrees
• Current New York State license as registered nurse and NP
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.

Aufgaben

• Assists the physician with patient management focusing on quality care and a well‑planned, timely discharge
• Orders medications and treatments
• Documents in patient chart or the computer all pertinent patient information following departmental and hospital policies
• Performs initial and ongoing assessment/history and physical examination
• Performs Trauma assessments/reassessments following ATLS (Trauma Team)
• Fully completes and submits billing forms by the end of each shift
• Completes discharge documentation including discharge/transfer summaries, discharge instructions, writing/issuing discharge orders, prescriptions, and any other associated documentation required for discharge
