Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for Internal Medicine on a per diem basis within Medical Staff Services. The role involves performing comprehensive patient assessments, testing and result interpretation, and collaborating with supervising physicians to deliver high-quality care.

Duties include documentation, plan development, and patient education across in-house services including ED and OR settings.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by ARC-PA.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Introduce self as PA/NP and perform initial assessment.
• Order and interpret tests as needed.
• Document care in chart per hospital policies.
• Develop and implement treatment plans with supervising physician.
• Provide patient and family education; ensure timely documentation.
• Assist in various settings including ED, Pre-Admission Testing, OR, and Employee Health.
