Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technician to perform medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures with a focus on patient safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and state license, with ARRT/NMTCB certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License in Nuclear Medicine.
• ARRT in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in nuclear medicine technology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity using approved protocols and review physician orders for accuracy.
• Explain procedures clearly and obtain consent when required.
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and perform imaging and non-imaging procedures per established protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment and process diagnostic images.
• Prepare radiopharmaceutical doses and perform generator elution and radiopharmacy duties.
• Adhere to all radiation safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and document imaging procedures, patient interactions, and quality assurance activities.

Education

Associate’s Degree or Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
