Job summary

NYU Langone Health in Manhattan is seeking a Per Diem Nuclear Medicine Technician (FGP) to join the Radiology team. You will perform medically prescribed nuclear medicine procedures under general supervision, prioritizing patient safety and quality results.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, radiopharmaceutical administration, image acquisition, data handling in PACS, and collaboration with physicians to ensure accurate diagnoses.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License in Nuclear Medicine.
• ARRT in Nuclear Medicine (NM) or NMTCB Certification.
• Current New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License is required.
• BLS Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and review physician orders.
• Explain procedures clearly and obtain consent when required.
• Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and perform imaging and non-imaging procedures per established protocols.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and respond to adverse reactions or emergencies.
• Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment, acquire and evaluate diagnostic images.
• Format, archive, and transmit imaging data to PACS.
• Document imaging procedures and ensure logs are complete.
• Maintain HIS/RIS/PACS workflow and assist physicians during procedures.
