Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for per diem night coverage in the Chemistry Lab. The role performs routine and complex tests with CLIA-defined complexity, ensures specimen integrity, calibrates instruments, and documents maintenance while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Minimum one year of clinical lab experience is preferred; an Associate degree in laboratory science is required, with MLT (ASCP) certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Preferred: MLT (ASCP) certification.
• Minimum one (1) year of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex laboratory tests across departments as defined by CLIA.
• Assesses specimen acceptability and maintains integrity throughout testing process.
• Operates and maintains laboratory equipment, documents maintenance, and ensures quality control.
