Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Lab Technician to perform routine and complex clinical laboratory tests across departments. The role requires meticulous specimen handling, calibration, and instrument maintenance while ensuring rapid, accurate results for patient care.

The position offers a non-exempt, full-time night shift with salary range described in the posting; a signing bonus may be available and eligibility will be confirmed during interview.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree in a lab science or related field.
• Preferred: MLT (ASCP) certification.
• Knowledge of CLIA interpretation and QA/QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex lab tests with accuracy to aid diagnosis.
• Assess specimen adequacy and maintain specimen integrity.
• Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot lab equipment per SOPs.
• Maintain records to comply with regulatory standards (JCAHO/CAP/AABB).
