Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking a PD Medical Technologist for the Night shift in Jersey City, NJ. The role involves analyzing blood, tissue and body fluids and preparing samples for testing in the Laboratory and Pathology department.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a clinical science or medical technology and 1 year of hospital lab experience; ASCP certification is preferred. The position reports to the Director and is non-exempt under FLSA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical science or medical technology from an accredited institution
• 1 year experience working in a hospital setting laboratory preferred; Blood Bank experience preferred
• ASCP preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze samples of blood, tissue and body fluids to determine chemical content, cell count, drug levels or blood type
• Prepare samples for examination using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation
• Perform numerous tests simultaneously and interpret results accurately
• Operate analyzers and other lab equipment, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot as needed
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of supplies and equipment
