Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan (OAM) in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Registration Intern to ensure a smooth patient start and billing flow. You will greet patients, collect information, schedule follow-ups, and support billing and insurance tasks with accuracy and care.

The per diem position requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a busy clinic. Candidates may be students or recent graduates in healthcare fields.

Competenze

• Recent graduate or current student pursuing a healthcare-related degree.
• Minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two+ years in medical office check-in/out and billing preferred.

Mansioni

• Greet patients and visitors politely.
• Collect patient information and complete forms.
• Assist with scheduling return appointments.
• Explain follow-up care and post-visit instructions.
• Assist with charges, insurance billing, and patient balances.
• Post payments and issue receipts.
• Enter charges with ICD-9 and CPT codes.
• Consult with clinical staff on coding questions.
• Reconcile day-end posting and secure funds.
• Answer and transfer phone calls.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.
