Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of CA Medical Assistant program; CA MA certification strongly preferred.
• Phlebotomy certificate strongly preferred.
• Entry level position up to one year of experience.
• Must certify and remain current in CPR.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients for program eligibility for health coverage programs.
• Assists patients with applications and documentation for programs.
• Educates patients and families about health coverage programs.
• Data entry of patient information into electronic health record system.
• Support for community events and health fairs.
• Greet patients and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs.
• Collect and document patient history and health status.
• Disinfects and prepares treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Provide patient education and follow-up care instructions.
• Performs panel management and non-visit tasks as assigned.
• Work with providers to deliver high-quality care.
• Ensure timely provider/MA huddles before shifts.
• Perform routine screening/procedures and document findings.
• Administer immunizations per provider order and document.
• Maintain logs, forms, records, and charts.
