Valor Healthcare is seeking a passionate Medical Assistant to join our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Durango, CO on a per-diem, part-time basis. You will support patient care under physician or mid-level supervision and collaborate with the PACT team to develop patient care plans.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, handling lab specimens, scheduling, documentation, and ensuring compliance with VA standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate from an accredited program; phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Minimum two years’ MA experience in primary or ambulatory care; government VA environment preferred.
• BLS certification; ACLS as required by VA contract.
• Proficient English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist with patient care, physical exams, and ancillary tests.
• Schedule clinic appointments and manage the electronic wait list.
• Answer phones and relay messages promptly.
• Prepare patient check-in lists and medication histories for the next day.
• Collect lab specimens (urine, blood, sputum) for testing.
• Operate ECG and other diagnostic equipment per routine protocols.
• Ensure compliance with OIG, JC, EOC, and lab regulations.
• Deliver excellent customer service in person and by phone.
• Support clinic outreach and enrollment initiatives.
• Adapt to new clinical or operational initiatives.
