Job summary

Valor Healthcare is seeking a passionate Medical Assistant to join our team at the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Roosevelt, UT. This position is part-time and PRN, requiring a national CMA certification to support veteran and federal service patients.

As a Medical Assistant, you will provide prescribed medical care, support the PACT team, and help maintain accurate EMR records while delivering excellent customer service in a VA-aligned environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate of an accredited program as approved by the state. Certified and experienced in phlebotomy preferred.
• Minimum two-years’ experience as an MA in primary care or ambulatory setting; government healthcare environment preferred.
• In good standing through the Veterans Health Administration; credentialing may be required.
• Unrestricted license to practice in the state of employment or as required by VA contract.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS as specified) and VA contract requirements.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English; strong computer/EMR skills.
• Energetic, optimistic demeanor with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• This is a safety sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Actively assists with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests.
• Schedule clinic appointments, PCMM assignments, and outpatient recalls; enter into Electronic Wait List.
• Answer phones and relay messages promptly.
• Print, prepare, and organize patient check-in lists with medication information.
• Collect lab specimens such as urine, blood, and sputum for testing.
• Operate electrocardiograph and other diagnostic equipment for routine testing.
• Ensure compliance with OIG, JC, EOC, lab oversight and related items.
• Maintain VA guidelines to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
• Provide excellent customer service in-person and by phone to patients and colleagues.
• Participate in outreach events to support enrollment initiatives.
• Assist with patient enrollment and retention in appointments and nurse visits.
• Embrace and support new clinical or operational initiatives.
