Job summary

Naples Comprehensive Health - NCH in Naples, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide basic patient care in the MSK Clinic. The role involves preparing exam rooms, supporting providers during procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include taking patient histories, vital signs, documenting in the EMR, and coordinating referrals. A MA training or certification and BLS are preferred; strong teamwork in a fast-paced setting is important.

Qualifications

• Completion of MA or practical nursing training with practicum hours.
• MA certification or one year medical office experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-provider clinic.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and report observations.
• Assist patients with transfers, walking, and prep.
• Collect patient history including meds and allergies.
• Provide patient care as directed by the provider; include screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures as needed.
• Document in EMR and relay instructions to patient/family.
• Answer calls and messages; liaison between patient and provider.
• Assist with casting, splinting, wound care, and DME fitting.
• Clerical duties: filing, sending records, scheduling.
• Collect and handle lab specimens; maintain infection control.
• Utilize electronic referrals for specialist/contact services.
