Job summary

REGIONAL CANCER CARE ASSOCIATES LLC in Sparta, NJ is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis. The role supports physicians and clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced oncology/hematology clinic.

Responsibilities include greeting and guiding patients, recording vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and handling lab specimens with care. Certification as CMA/RMA is preferred; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current Certification from an accredited program for CMA or RMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at the front desk and escort them to exam rooms for visits with physicians or nurse practitioners and for lab work.
• Transport patients safely using equipment such as wheelchairs.
• Obtain patient vital signs, height and weight; document in the EMR.
• Ensure exam rooms and offices are stocked with supplies and paperwork.
• Set up for bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and other procedures ordered for patients.
• After receiving lab orders, obtain blood specimens by finger stick or venipuncture as required.
• Review specimens for acceptability and provide proper collection instructions to patients.
• Maintain QC and instrument function; document corrective actions as needed.
• Process specimens for outside lab testing and ensure proper handling and transport.
