Job summary

REGIONAL CANCER CARE ASSOCIATES LLC in Hackensack, NJ is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a fast-paced oncology/hematology clinic. This temporary, full-time position offers compensation of $20.00–$22.00 per hour and a range of duties from patient intake to specimen collection.

The role emphasizes patient care, lab support, and adherence to OSHA/HIPAA standards. High school diploma required; CMA/RMA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CMA or RMA certification from an accredited program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms for appointments and lab work.
• Transport patients safely using wheelchair or mobility aids as needed.
• Record patient vital signs, height, weight, and document in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure exam rooms and offices are stocked with supplies and paperwork.
• Prepare for bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures and related procedures.
• Collect blood specimens via finger stick or venipuncture as ordered.
• Instruct patients on proper specimen collection and handle samples for transport to lab.
• Maintain quality control and document corrective actions for any out-of-range results.
• Process specimens for transport to reference labs and outside testing as required.
• Demonstrate initiative and effective teamwork with staff and clinicians.

Education
