Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for per diem day shifts in Hematology/Oncology at Morristown, NJ. You will support direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision and help ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, preparing examination rooms, and assisting with procedures while documenting in the EMR (EPIC). Strong communication and professionalism are essential in a fast-paced team setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National CMA certification (CCMA) from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT preferred.
• Experience in outpatient/ambulatory setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and record results to establish baselines.
• Assist with examinations and clinical tasks under physician supervision.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens as directed.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments; maintain patient flow.
• Maintain and update patient records in the EMR system.
• Prepare exam rooms and stock supplies between visits.
• Provide emotional support and coordinate referrals as needed.
