Job summary

Concentra, Inc seeks a Medical Assistant PRN to support our patient care team in Ocala, FL. You will perform routine medical procedures under clinician supervision and assist in registration, referrals, and front-office duties to ensure a smooth patient flow.

The role requires DOT/non-DOT testing, specimen collection, phlebotomy, vital signs, and excellent patient communication in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements preferred.

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally to patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram, respirator fit tests).
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures as ordered.
• Assist with procedure setup and injury care; apply bandages and splints as needed.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician instruction and state regulations.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and clean/stock exam rooms; ensure proper calibration/record keeping.
• Maintain privacy and HIPAA compliance in all documentation and communications.
• Greet patients, check in/out, obtain authorizations, and manage front/back office tasks.
