Job summary

Concentra, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant PRN to support a fast-paced patient care team in US-PA-Philadelphia. You will perform DOT and non-DOT testing, prepare patients for exams, assist clinicians, and handle front-office duties while ensuring accurate documentation and patient experience.

The role requires vocational/technical training or MA program with externship, plus 6+ months MA experience and knowledge of occupational medicine requirements. Training and responsibilities may evolve.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred, or one year of direct patient care as MA, or military medical specialist with state credentials.
• At least six months of medical assistant experience.
• Knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
• Working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for examinations, take vital signs, and assist with ancillary testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examination and treatment.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergencies.
• Prepare clinical setup and assist with injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician guidance and state rules.
• Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and stock exam rooms.
• Document accurately and handle front office duties (check-in/out, auths, wait times).
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and participate in trainings.
