Job summary

Concentra in Newark, DE seeks a Medical Assistant to join our patient care team. You will perform DOT and Non-DOT drug testing, prepare patients for physical examinations, take vital signs, and assist clinicians during visits.

The role includes rapid screening tests, specimen collection, injections, phlebotomy, and routine procedures while ensuring HIPAA compliance, accurate documentation, and smooth patient flow through front and back office tasks.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program OR 1 year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant OR military medical specialist experience.
• State-specific credentials and compliance requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and Non‑DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for exams including vital signs and ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiograms, respirator fit testing).
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Triage emergent patients and perform routine medical procedures as ordered.
• Prepare and assist with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders and state regulations.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, rooms, and calibration records.
• Document accurately and manage front/back office duties including check-in/out and communications.
