Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes in Augusta seeks a dependable Per Diem Maintenance Worker to help maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

The role covers a range of general maintenance and repairs across the facility and grounds, with a flexible, as-needed schedule. A hands-on problem solver with a valid Maine driver’s license is preferred to respond to routine needs and unexpected repairs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of maintenance experience.
• Basic carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, groundskeeping, and custodial skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform routine repairs safely and effectively.
• Healthcare or long-term care environment experience is helpful.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Maine driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• The Per Diem Maintenance Worker performs a variety of general maintenance and repair duties throughout the facility and grounds.
• This role helps ensure building systems, equipment, resident areas, common areas, and grounds are safe, functional, and well maintained.
