Job summary

Maine Veterans’ Homes in Scarborough is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join our dedicated team. The role performs maintenance and repair work on buildings, grounds and equipment to provide a safe, functional, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff and visitors.

This is a per diem position; you will support the Environmental Services Manager in meeting federal and state regulations. A minimum of three years’ experience in general maintenance is required, along with a Maine

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in general maintenance and repair work including carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping and custodial tasks
• Healthcare environment experience is helpful
• Must have a valid State of Maine driver’s license
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required
• Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs in English
• Basic computer skills are required

We are seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join our dedicated team at MVH – Scarborough. The Maintenance Worker performs maintenance and repair work to buildings, grounds and equipment, in order to provide a safe, functional, sanitary and comfortable environment for the residents, employees and the public. This position also assists the Environmental Services Manager in meeting environmental care compliance with all federal and state regulations. This is a per diem position.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience, education and/or training in general maintenance and repair work, with a basic knowledge of carpentry, masonry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping, and custodial functions.
• Experience in a healthcare environment helpful.
• Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Maine driver’s license.
• Requires proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required.
• Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required.
• Basic computer skills
