Maine Veterans’ Homes in Machias is seeking a reliable Housekeeping & Laundry Aide on a per diem basis to join our team. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors, with flexible scheduling and meaningful impact.

Key duties include cleaning rooms and bathrooms, routine housekeeping tasks, washing and distributing resident laundry, following infection-control procedures, maintaining equipment, and collaborating with teammates to meet

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or laundry experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize resident rooms, common areas, and bathrooms.
• Perform routine housekeeping duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and trash removal.
• Wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident laundry and linens.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment and report maintenance concerns.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational needs.
