Job summary

Maine Veterans' Homes is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join our Scarborough team. This full-time role supports a safe, functional environment for residents, staff and visitors, with on-call responsibilities.

The position requires hands-on maintenance across buildings, grounds and equipment and assistance to the Environmental Services Manager to meet federal and state regulations. A valid Maine driver’s license and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience, education and/or training in general maintenance and repair work including carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing, painting, grounds keeping and custodial tasks.
• Healthcare environment experience is helpful.
• Must possess and maintain a current and valid State of Maine driver's license.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
• Ability to understand and respond to residents' needs in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair work to buildings, grounds and equipment to provide a safe, functional, sanitary and comfortable environment.
• Assist Environmental Services Manager in meeting environmental compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Share in the on-call responsibility as part of a full-time role.

We are seeking a Maintenance Worker II to join our dedicated team at MVH - Scarborough. The Maintenance Worker performs maintenance and repair work to buildings, grounds and equipment, in order to provide a safe, functional, sanitary and comfortable environment for the residents, employees and the public. This position also assists the Environmental Services Manager in meeting environmental care compliance with all federal and state regulations. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, and shares in the on-call responsibility.

Requirements
