Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) in Orlando, FL is seeking a Per Diem Laboratory Assistant II to support the Blood Bank team. You will receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing and help keep workflows running smoothly in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.

Great opportunity for students or professionals to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative health system while maintaining a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of laboratory or patient care experience required.
Current students pursuing Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre-Med, or another science-related degree may substitute education for up to two years of experience.

Responsabilités

Receive, process, centrifuge, label, and prepare specimens for testing.
Register patients and enter laboratory orders into hospital systems.
Transport and properly store laboratory specimens and materials.
Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
Support specimen processing, reference testing, billing, and scheduling workflows.
Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and team members.
Assist with pathology specimens and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
Assist with training and support departmental operations as needed.
