Job summary

Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) in Orlando, FL is seeking a Per Diem Laboratory Assistant II to support the Blood Bank team. You will receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing and help keep workflows running smoothly in a fast-paced hospital laboratory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of laboratory or patient care experience required.
• Current students pursuing Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre-Med, or another science-related degree may substitute education for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, centrifuge, label, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Register patients and enter laboratory orders into hospital systems.
• Transport and properly store laboratory specimens and materials.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment.
• Support specimen processing, reference testing, billing, and scheduling workflows.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, providers, and team members.
• Assist with pathology specimens and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
• Assist with training and support departmental operations as needed.

What You’ll Do

As a Laboratory Assistant II, You Will
