Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando seeks a Laboratory Support role involving phlebotomy and specimen handling. You will collect samples, prepare cultures, and assist in the lab while maintaining safety and regulatory standards. Daily tasks include patient data collection and supporting clinical staff with accuracy and care.

The role requires phlebotomy skills, strong customer service, and basic computer proficiency. Schedule includes daytime shifts at the Orlando Lab location, with safety policies and PPE

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational schooling preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills are required.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.

Responsibilities

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures and inoculate bacterial cultures.
• Clean and disinfect equipment, maintain inventory and supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and assess new equipment.
• Provide resolution to customer service issues and educate clinical staff.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE usage.
• Handle infectious specimens with proper safety practices.
• Collect patient and order information for accounts and verification.
• May perform blood collection and phlebotomy for all ages.
• Support department operations and perform related duties.
