Job summary

Beacon Hospice, a part of Amedisys, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for per diem coverage in Maine. The role involves hospice palliation, collaborative care, and comprehensive symptom management to support patients at home.

You will conduct face-to-face visits, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and ensure appropriate diagnostic testing and treatment plans are documented and implemented. Per diem shifts offer flexibility and meaningful patient impact.

Qualifications

• Current and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of assignment.
• Minimum of one year experience as NP or hospice RN within last three years.
• Authority to practice and prescribe as a NP in the service state.
• Must have Medicare billing privileges as NP.
• Must meet state NP collaborative requirements and provide physician agreements.
• Insurance as mandated by state law for NP practice.
• Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement and coding for all levels of service.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate significant findings and changes in condition to the clinical manager and interdisciplinary team.
• Complete face-to-face encounters and assess disease changes, functional decline, and symptom management.
• Order and review lab tests and diagnostic procedures and document treatment plans.
• Make referrals to other disciplines as needed.
• Actively participate in interdisciplinary team conferences.
