UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Per Diem Health Information Management Associate in Brewer, ME. The role supports chart scanning, release of information, vital statistics, and deficiency analysis while ensuring HIPAA and Joint Commission compliance.

Per diem shifts are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm with coverage at multiple area hospitals. Candidates should have a High School Diploma, 1+ year healthcare customer service experience, and be able to work onsite and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of healthcare customer service experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Able to work onsite at 43 Whiting Hill Rd., Brewer, ME 04412 and cover other locations as needed
• Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma

Responsibilities

• Completes scanning, deficiency analysis, vital statistics, and release of information functions adhering to HIPAA and regulatory requirements
• Safeguard patient's protected health information at all times
• Must be able to go to the nursing units to pick up charts
• Pack charts in boxes or bags for scanning
• Analyze charts to ensure documentation completion and assign missing items to practitioners
• Complete weekly reporting of deficiencies
• Complete monthly audits on hospital charts to ensure documentation and regulatory compliance
• Answer incoming calls for the Release of Information center
• Abstract required information in the Cerner and ROI application
• Maintain established quality and productivity benchmarks
• Travel to any of the 9 hospitals to provide coverage as needed
• Ability to do tasks remotely as needed
