Job summary

Northern Light Health, in collaboration with Optum, seeks a Per Diem Health Information Management Associate to support chart processing and information management at our Brewer, ME location. The role involves timely chart prep, scanning, indexing, and deficiency analysis while ensuring HIPAA compliance and data security.

Hours are Mon-Fri 8:00 am–4:30 pm with at least two shifts per month; travel to the 9 area hospitals may be required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1+ years of healthcare customer service experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work onsite at 43 Whiting Hill Rd., Brewer, ME 04412 and cover others as needed.
Vaccination requirements including flu booster where mandated.

Responsibilities

Process patient health information with HIPAA and regulatory compliance.
Handle chart prep, scanning, indexing, and release of information tasks.
Assist physicians with record completion and deficiency analysis.
Answer Release of Information center calls and abstract data in Cerner/ROI systems.
Travel to 9 hospitals for coverage and perform remote tasks when needed.
Maintain quality and productivity benchmarks; ensure patient information security.
Support ongoing continuing education and stay updated on policies.
