Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant for our Primary Care/Walk-in Clinic in Belfast, ME. This per diem role supports providers, performs clinical tasks, and helps manage daily operations with a focus on patient-centered care.

The candidate will greet patients, document vitals and histories, assist with procedures, and perform phlebotomy and immunizations as directed. EHR documentation and front-office support are essential components of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; medical assisting training preferred.
• Current or within 30 days BLS certification; NH licenses for NH roles may be required.
• One year of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• 160 hours of clinical experience through accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, record vital signs, and review medical history.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and immunizations as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Document patient information in the EHR.
• Support front office tasks including scheduling and referrals.
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver patient-centered care.
