UNC Health is seeking a flexible Occupational Therapist I (Per Diem) for the UNC Hospitals Hand Center in Chapel Hill, NC. The role focuses on outpatient hand therapy, upper extremity rehabilitation, and custom splint fabrication within a collaborative academic medical center.

The per diem position offers 8 hours per week with 12:00 PM–6:30 PM emphasis; cross-coverage opportunities may arise at UNC Therapy Services locations in Mebane and Cary based on need and competency.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Licensed to practice in North Carolina.
• BLS certification within three months of hire, if required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled occupational therapy evaluation, treatment, reassessment, and education for outpatient upper extremity patients.
• Provide hand therapy interventions and orthosis fabrication within demonstrated competencies.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, physicians, and rehabilitation team.
• Complete accurate clinical documentation, charges, and records; manage caseload efficiently.
• Support flexible clinic coverage and adapt to different schedules or locations as needed.
• Maintain current clinical competencies and participate in education and quality improvement activities.
