Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) Indianapolis is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will work with doctors to deliver gold standard, compassionate care across triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, and critical care nursing.

This role emphasizes hands-on veterinary technology, high-volume emergencies, and ongoing growth within a supportive VEG community. Night and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology from AVMA accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR software.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat a wide range of emergency cases in a fast-paced setting.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing as needed.
• Operate diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tubing placement.
