Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Veterinarian in Ohio. You will be on the front lines of emergency care, handling a broad range of cases from routine to complex surgeries, including exotics.

The role emphasizes mentorship, ongoing learning, and a culture built around supporting VEGgies. You will perform examinations, diagnostics, and surgeries, communicate clearly with clients, and participate in VEG Education programs and CE opportunities.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent degree required.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Emergency medicine experience including endoscopy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency cases across a wide spectrum, including exotic pets.
• Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and develop treatment plans.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options with clients clearly.
• Provide surgical and endoscopic services as part of emergency care.
• Educate clients on aftercare, home care, and preventative measures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and prepare cost estimates for clients.
