Job summary

Universal Health Services’ North Valleys ER, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, operates 24/7 with fast-track rooms, ultrasound/CT/X-ray imaging, and outpatient lab draws to rapidly triage emergencies.

The ER RN will provide professional nursing care in a busy ED, coordinating care with other disciplines and responding to changes in patient status to support timely treatment and safe disposition.

Qualifications

• Current NV RN License
• Two to three years exp in the emergency department preferred OR
• Two to three years critical Care Exp OR
• extensive EMS background experience
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification (within 6 months of hire)
• Current PALS Certification (within 6 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care to ensure optimal patient care.
• Head-to-toe assessment across all ages including pediatric to geriatric patients.
• Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care and assigns triage categories.
• Monitors hemodynamic status and interprets results.
• Assesses and reassesses pain; educates patient and family on pain management.
