Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in California. You will be on the front lines of emergency care, handling cases from triage to critical care, collaborating with doctors to deliver rapid, compassionate care to pets and their owners.

You will engage in diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and advanced nursing tasks while growing your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Night, weekend, and holiday availability is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or higher in veterinary tech preferred.
• CVT/RVT/LV T credentials in the practice state required; VTS in ECC/medicine/anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty a plus.
• Proficiency with practice management software and EMR systems.
• Excellent communication under pressure; able to support team.

Responsibilities

• Triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing.
• Provide nursing care, treatments, and emotional support during emergencies.
• Assist with diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
• Lead and communicate with the team to maintain smooth patient flow.
• Perform CPR and leverage advanced techniques as needed.
