Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team. You will handle cases from triage to critical care, collaborating with doctors to deliver gold-standard, emotionally intelligent care for pets and their people.

You should be CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT, with ER experience preferred, and be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician in the state where the VEG practice is located.
• 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR software familiarity.
• Excellent communicator, calm under pressure; team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients; provide nursing care and emotional support.
• Deliver treatments and monitoring from first triage to discharge.
• Administer meds, IVs/CRIs, monitoring, and transfusions as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan care and maintain workflow.
• Perform CPR as needed; contribute to anesthesia and patient monitoring.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placement.
• Utilize advanced techniques like central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
