Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Atlanta seeks a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front‑line team. You will handle a broad range of emergencies, work with doctors, and deliver gold‑standard, compassionate care during stressful moments.

You’ll triage, treat, monitor, and assist with anesthesia, imaging, and critical care nursing, while supporting pet parents and teammates. This role offers mentorship, growth opportunities, and a dynamic, high‑energy ER environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited associate degree preferred.
• Credentialed veterinary technician (CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT) in the practice state.
• 1+ year of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.
• Strong communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Able to lift up to 25 kg and stand for extended periods.
• Willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients, supporting doctors and nurses.
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and emotional support.
• Assist with IVs, monitoring, and anesthesia as needed.
• Support diagnostics, imaging, and sample collection.
• Communicate clearly with team and pet parents.
• Perform CPR and assist in critical care scenarios.
• Handle devices like central lines, endoscopy, and ultrasounds.
