Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician in New York. You will join a fast-paced team on the front lines of veterinary emergency care, handling triage, anesthesia, diagnostics, and monitoring to deliver compassionate, high-quality care for pets and their families.

You will collaborate with doctors, support pet parents, and grow your skills in a dynamic, patient-focused environment that values learning and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Credentialed veterinary technician in the practice state is required; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia is a plus.
• 1+ years of experience as a veterinary technician; emergency or specialty experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited program strongly preferred.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg; comfortable in a noisy, odorful environment.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care, triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring.
• Collaborate with doctors to deliver gold-standard, empathetic care.
• Support pet parents and manage critical care nursing during emergencies.
• Handle emergencies from triage to discharge with composure.
