Job summary

VEG is seeking a per diem Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team in Albuquerque, NM. You will work alongside doctors and staff to deliver gold-standard emergency care for various cases, including exotics, in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates hold AVMA-accredited credentials, have 1+ year of ER experience, and are available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Perks include flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in veterinary technology from an AVMA accredited program strongly preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state the VEG practice is located; VTS in ECC, internal medicine or anesthesia/analgesia a plus.
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and understanding of practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communicator and calm under pressure; able to support teammates.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat a wide range of veterinary emergencies.
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring and critical care nursing.
• Collaborate with doctors to plan and coordinate patient care.
• Perform CPR when needed and support emergency procedures.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection and procedures.
