Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) seeks a per diem Emergency Veterinarian to join our 24/7 network of ER hospitals. You’ll diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of emergencies in a fast-paced setting while mentoring others and advancing your career through VEG Education programs.

As a VEG teammate, you’ll handle routine to complex cases, including surgeries and endoscopic procedures, with a customer-centered approach that emphasizes compassionate care for both clients and their pets.

Qualifications

• Live and breathe emergency medicine and related procedures.
• Thrive in a team-oriented hospital environment.
• Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 25 kg independently.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Able to operate in a noisy environment with strong odors.

Responsibilities

• Answer medical questions and triage patients as needed.
• See patients immediately and manage routine to complex emergencies.
• Gather signalment, presenting complaints, vitals, and exam results.
• Perform surgeries, endoscopy, and diagnostic procedures as required.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options with pet owners.
