Job summary

COMMUNITY RENEWAL TEAM INC. is seeking a Substitute Teacher Assistant (apprenticeship) in Hartford, CT to support teachers in daily classroom routines and developmentally appropriate care for children in an early care setting.

The position is per diem with a High School Diploma or GED and CDA enrollment preferred. Responsibilities include supervision, paperwork, safety, and collaboration with the instructional team to meet CACFP and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children and families.
• Ability to keep and maintain records; strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children and maintain safety, sanitation, and neatness in classroom and playground.
• Assist teaching staff as part of apprentices’ program; support daily classroom routines.
• Assist in implementing CRT curriculum, policies, and IEP goals as needed.
