Job summary

COMMUNITY RENEWAL TEAM INC in Hartford, CT is seeking a Substitute Teacher Assistant to support teaching staff in the apprentices’ program. You will help with daily classroom routines, provide developmentally appropriate care and education, and ensure compliance with early childhood standards.

The role requires supervising children, maintaining safety and cleanliness, assisting with CACFP meals, and supporting educators in implementing classroom activities and IEP goals as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of or enrollment in CDA program preferred.
• Experience with children and able to work with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children with sight and sound and maintain ratios.
• Assist in developmentally appropriate classroom activities and routines.
• Follow CACFP guidelines for meals and record keeping.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and playground environment.
• Support the Teacher and Instructional Leader with tasks and IEP goals.
