Job summary

Jefferson Health is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed clinicians at our Philadelphia campuses. The role may include telehealth encounters and collaboration across clinical departments to support patients and families.

The position emphasizes patient-centered care, safety, and efficiency, with opportunities to engage in virtual safety activities and telehealth workflows using Epic and Vidyo.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care within an interprofessional team.
• Ability to perform delegated tasks within scope of role.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Understanding of risks in a healthcare environment and safety.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment for efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds, anticipates needs, and responds to call lights promptly.
• May be assigned as virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
• May assist with telehealth clinical exams using peripheral devices and software (e.g., electronic stethoscope, Epic, Vidyo).
