Job summary

Jefferson Health Northeast is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) who provides designated direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed clinicians. The role supports telehealth encounters and collaborates with the interprofessional team to address patient needs.

The PCT assists with equipment, rounds, safety, and patient comfort, while adhering to safety standards and organizational policies. Work shifts include Day hours in the United States.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs.
• Ability to work under supervision of licensed clinicians.
• Familiarity with telehealth and hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities under supervision of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly.
• May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
• May be required to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam using peripheral devices and telehealth software.
