Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed clinical team. This role supports telehealth encounters and collaborates with multiple clinical departments at the patient’s site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse care teams and communicate clearly.
• BLS certification required upon hire or as stated.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.
• Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.
• Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.
• Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.
• Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly.
• May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.
• May be required, to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the utilization of any required peripheral devices (e.g. electronic stethescope), other technology (e.g. video conferencing equipment) and software (e.g. Epic, Vidyo, etc) ensuring a comprehensive virtual care encounter is conducted.
