Straight and Narrow in Paterson, NJ is seeking a per diem Cook/Food Service to support meal prep, packaging, service, and delivery while upholding safety and sanitation standards. The role involves timely meal distribution, menu adherence, and professional interaction with staff and clients.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, monitoring inventory, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED or 1 year of food service experience.
Knowledge of large-scale food preparation and service.
Ability to coordinate kitchen functions.
ServSafe certification within 30 days from hire.
Must have NJ driver’s license with <=5 points and ability to drive agency vehicles.
Excellent verbal and written communication and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook meals per established menus, standardized recipes, and instructions by the Director of Food Services.
Serve meals accurately, on schedule, and in a professional manner.
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and equipment safety standards.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and cost control.
Keep kitchen clean and organized, and report any equipment issues promptly.
Communicate professionally with staff and clients and follow all safety protocols.
