Job summary

CHRISTUS Health Tyler is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to accurately evaluate specimen orders and enter clinical data into multiple systems. You will also maintain equipment, manage supplies, and ensure safety and compliance with established protocols.

The role requires basic knowledge in microbiology/immunology and an AS degree preferred, with certification options. Full-time, on-site position with regular 5-day work weeks.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge in microbiology, immunology or molecular biology and biochemistry related to infectious diseases
• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting desired
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation

Responsibilities

• Accurately document information such as processing logs, quality control and labeling of reagents
• Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains laboratory equipment and glassware
• Maintains and distributes laboratory supplies
• Packages laboratory biohazard waste for disposal following established standards
• Maintains inventory of all consumables and reagents
• Assists with enforcing safety around PPE and laboratory policies
