Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking an ASR II to assist patients with friendly, accurate registration and cashiering. You will handle check-in/out, collect payments, and help with forms while maintaining a professional, organized workspace.

As part of a national healthcare network, you will interact with patients and staff to ensure timely, quality service. A positive attitude and basic math are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of direct face to face customer service experience.
• 1+ years of cash handling or collections experience.
• 6+ months of experience in a customer facing role within a medical office, healthcare setting or other service-related industry or 1+ years KSC ASR I or HIM Tech experience with 6 months ASR II cross-training experience and the successful completion of Epic Front Desk Training or 2 years KSC CBO, Managed Care or Contact Center experience
• Experience with computers and Windows-based software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic Math ability
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
• Excellent professional and personal presentation style
• Ability to speak, write and understand English

Responsibilities

• Commits to collaborative interaction with patients to achieve excellent customer service and high levels of satisfaction.
• Processes check-in and check-out on POS system and collects fees, co-pays, deductibles, self-pay and bad debt balances.
• Registers new patients, sets up insurance/demographics in Epic, communicates wait times, and assists with forms.
• Performs cash control procedures and balancing.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the site manager
